Ball Green Primary School is a co-educational community school providing high quality education for pupils aged 3-11 years. The school is situated on Whitfield Road, Ball Green, serving the catchment area of Ball Green and parts of Norton.

The school is situated on a larger than average site which allows the children to have access to a varied outdoor environment, featuring our Woodland Area, a large grassed playing field and a tarmaced playground with a variety of play equipment installed.

The school building comprises of 14 classrooms and a purpose-built Nursery block, cloakroom areas, a community room, main assembly/dining hall, reception area, offices, and a staffroom.

Within the school grounds is a successful before and after school club which has very close ties with the school.

In the Early Years and Foundation Stage we have a 45 place Nursery and two Reception classrooms.  Although the school has a Pupil Admission Number [PAN] of 45 in each year group, the school is over-subscribed and has two classes in each year group [Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2] to meet local demand for places.

A great deal of time and effort is spent by our staff to provide the best possible learning environment and experiences for all of our children.

We have a unique local facility, OPUS, which is a purpose built inclusion unit that provides a personalised learning experience to meet the varying needs of children who may experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties. OPUS has been supported by High Needs funding and shares it’s provision with vulnerable children across the city.

We have recently developed and implemented a creative, text-based curriculum designed to deepen learning through cross-curricula links and enrich learning experiences through related educational visits.

In addition to this, the commitment of the staff enables us to offer an extensive range of extra-curricular activities.

We also pride ourselves on our sporting achievements, charitable work and our involvement in the local community.

Our philosophy is that ‘every child’ should be supported to embrace ‘every chance’, ‘every day’, based upon the belief that all children are of equal value, and that each should be offered equal opportunities at school, free from any bias due to an individual’s academic or physical ability, colour of skin, race, religion or gender.

Our school motto is, “Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day” and this can be seen in the positive way children behave towards each other and the respectful relationships between staff and children. We encourage the children to develop self-discipline and to understand the importance of being good citizens.
