Dear Parents & Guardians
In the event of heavy snowfalls, every effort will be made to keep the school open. However, in extremely bad weather this may not always be possible.
If it should snow heavily, please listen to Radio Stoke or Signal Radio for news of school closures or late opening times.
Information about school closure will be updated as soon as possible on our website www.ballgreenprimary.co.uk , school app and a text message will be sent out.
Please try to appreciate that sometimes it is not possible to make a decision about closing the school until the last minute – conditions may deteriorate in a very short time and staff may simply be unable to get to school. Many of our teachers travel long distances to school, from as far as Leek and Eccleshall.
Before leaving young children at school, parents are requested to check that class teachers have arrived. Older children who come to school on their own should be given clear instructions on what to do if the school is closed.
If the school is open but conditions worsen during the day and it is felt necessary to close the school, we will update the website, the school app and send out text messages to notify you. Please ensure that school have up-to-date contact numbers for you at all times.
Please avoid phoning the school as this may prevent emergency calls going out.
In snowy weather, if at all possible, please send children to school in Wellingtons or snow boots, with a pair of shoes to change into for indoor wear. Please see that all items of clothing, including boots and shoes are clearly marked with your child’s name.
Thank you for your co-operation.
